This Is a Test of Google's Capacity to Deliver Interesting Perspectives on Guccifer 2.0

Quick questions to the remaining readers of what used to be a debate blog:

  • are you aware of the Guccifer 2.0 story?
  • have you been trying to follow it?
  • have you been able to find any good sources on it through google searches?

Just to be clear, I had not been aware of or following the story until one of my best friends started blogging about it in mid-June.  As he's been writing about his experiences going down that particular rabbit hole, I've started looking for other sources.  Not very hard, to be sure.  And I know that I've been on leave from blogging for awhile, but what ever happened to google's blog search?  Back in the bad old days, I was at least able to find a wide range of voices on almost any topic, no matter how obscure.  But when I search "Guccifer 2.0" on google, I get nothing interesting or new.  If I didn't know about posts like this, I would never be able to find them.

Objectivist, Theist, what say you?

There's got to be more out there, right?  Are you there, google?  It's me, The Constructivist.

This will have been a test of the google search system.  This will have been only a test.

Congratulations, 15,000th Visitor!

Just wanted to mark this milestone by thanking our visitor from LA who was looking for a definition of recreational sex. I'll leave it to my co-authors to come up with your prize!

Congratulations 10,000th Visitor!

Except that it was most likely me, so that would mean self-congratulations are in order. And that would be like linking on your own blog to your own comments at someone else's that link back to your own blog. Not kosher.

Oh, wait. Now that I check again, it looks like it was whichever aol.com user did this google search. Even though this person supposedly stayed 0 seconds, I'm not going to discount (much less not count) that visit--then we'd likely lose more than half of our total visits! Whoever you are, please make your prize demands in the comments!

Happy Birthday, O v. C v. T!

Just realized this little ol' blog turns 1 today! 8300-some visits is the daily traffic figure for some sites, but for us it's a yearly total. Whee! Bust out the party hats, O and T, and do some celebrating for me....

New Look

Yes, you're in the right spot, folks! Here's what we used to look like:

The Theist has now (finally) been added as a contributor here, and he's gone and abused his administrator priviledge by changing the look and feel to something he thought was more readable. Is the new look an improvement?

The Theist is busy with his family, professoring, miscellaneous geeking, and his other online gig. But he'll jump into the discussion here now and again as time permits.
